Oliver Hudson talks Layla and Jeff’s future!

Oliver Hudson’s Jeff Fordham is cold and ruthless on “Nashville,” a role the actor says is quite an adjustment from what he’s used to.

“I’ve never played such a bad person,” the actor told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “It’s really fun. Going from ‘Rules of Engagement’ to this is night and day.”

When we last saw Jeff on the ABC show, his married paramour Layla Grant (Aubrey Peeples) had overdosed on alcohol and pills he’d given her, and was face down in his pool.

Fortunately, Oliver said Layla will live.

“She does come out of the pool, which I guess I’m now revealing,” he laughed.

And it sounds like the Jayla romance isn’t dead yet, as Oliver dished on how Layla’s closeted husband, Will Lexington (Chris Carmack), will handle the relationship.

“You will see how that sort of plays out, where he’s not so much upset that we’re together, because you know, I protect him,” he said.

While Oliver loves his role on “Nashville,” leaving his newborn daughter in order to film almost made him back out.

“It was tough because I’d just had my little baby girl, my third child, and I had to leave home and go to Nashville… I was a complete mess, bawling,” he said. “My car was coming to pick me up and I was like, ‘What did I do?! I’m gonna call my manager and say I’m not doing it. I don’t care if ABC never hires me again!’ I mean, I was literally out of my mind.

“My beautiful wife was like, ‘Get up, get in the car. Everything is gonna be fine,'” he added.

The actor, who also has two sons with wife Erinn Bartlett, said becoming a father to a little girl changed his life.

“It’s unreal. It’s a whole different dynamic, a whole different ballgame. You don’t understand the daddy’s little girl thing and that feeling that you have until you actually have that girl,” he said.

“Nashville” returns Wednesday, February 4 at 10/9c on ABC.

Jem And The Holograms Release Date Confirmed

The upcoming Jem and the Holograms live-action movie has numerous eighties and nineties kids jumping with glee as the release date has been confirmed to be on October 15, 2015. This is different from initial reports that the film will be coming out in 2016.

Directing the film will be Jon M. Chu (Step Up 2: The Streets, Step Up 3D, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and joining him will be producers Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions responsible for movies like Paranormal Activity and The Purge, Scooter Braun for School Boy Projects (music-related projects), Bennett Schneir (Battleship, Ouija), and Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis, both from Hasbro Studios.

By the looks of the roster of people behind the film, fans are pretty wary of whether the film will be a sure hit or if it would be good at all, considering that the director who is responsible for “mediocre” movies decided to team up with producers who are also responsible for low, if not “average-rated” movies. Not to mention one of them is not even a movie producer per se, but a music talent manager (we’re looking at you, Mr. Braun.) Nevertheless, fans will definitely watch the Jem and the Holograms Movie on its release date.

As to the cast members, playing the role of the leader Jem, will be Aubrey Peeples, pretty unknown to most people, but was a cast member for TV series Nashville. Joining her will be Stefanie Scott, who was a cast member of Disney’s A.N.T. Farm. Stefanie will play the role of Jem’s little sister Kimber. Other cast members to round up the group will be Aurora Perrineau from Pretty Little Liars (playing the character Shana,) and Hayley Kiyoko of Wizards of Waverley Place.

Nashville Cliff Hanger: Layla’s Fate Revealed

“Nashville” Season 3 fans are waiting for tons of questions to be answered when the show returns in 2015, but the fate of Layla (Aubrey Peeples) after the dramatic cliffhanger in the winter finale is probably the most anticipated of all. After Jeff (Oliver Hudson) broke up with Layla and told her to go out on tour with her husband Will (Chris Carmack), she found her husband in bed with another girl. She took the pills Jeff gave her and ended up facedown in the pool. Viewers didn’t know if Layla was dead or alive, but it seems we haven’t seen the last of her just yet.

“When Nashville returns in the new year, expect to see the fake couple’s fake marriage end in a real divorce,” E! Online reports.

Being that divorce isn’t really something that’s necessary when someone is dead, we’ll take that to mean she’ll be pulled out of the pool in the nick of time. Unfortunately for Will, that means the rumors about his sexuality likely won’t stop. He only slept with that random girl because she accused him of being gay, and he thought he would prove people wrong. However, getting a divorce will probably reignite the rumors.

Layla’s survival is good news for Jeff. The slimy record executive didn’t call an ambulance when he saw Layla in the pool. Even though it seemed like he had real feelings for her, he called Teddy (Eric Close), the mayor, to call in a favor. He claimed he was going to need help, but it seems he won’t have to deal with a dead recording artist. However, Layla’s survival doesn’t mean everything is fine, especially if Jeff’s feelings are real.

Showrunner Dee Johnson explained that both Will and Jeff will be forced to confront some issues when “Nashville” Season 3 returns. “I think she ended up having, intentionally or otherwise, actually, a huge impact on both of these men in surprising ways,” Johnson told the Hollywood Reporter. “And then obviously, as a result of that, ended up being some form of collateral damage in the episode. So there’s certainly a lot to unpack after that … for all parties.”

Will is obviously going to have to deal with the end of his marriage. Although it was fake, it was the best cover up for his sexuality. Conversely, Jeff will probably have to deal with having actual feelings for one of his artists. However, they may have both lost one of their only friends. Layla probably isn’t going to be happy when she recovers. She’s definitely leaving Will, but will she leave Jeff and Edgehill Records too?

“Nashville” Season 3 returns to ABC on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 10 p.m. EST.
